  • How to do a cord cutting ritual/ceremony

    A cord cutting ritual midburning

When we interact with people, get into relationships, whether platonic or romantic, this creates an energetic cord between you and this person. You can also create energetic cords with places and things as well. We sometimes create energetic bonds with people that eventually become unhealthy or toxic, this is the case with energy vampires, read more about that here.

A cord cutting ritual or ceremony is intended to cut any unhealthy energetic cords between you and other people. Many people like to use cord cutting rituals after break ups to help severe those ties. I personally use them every so often to cut ties between old relationships as well as old limiting beliefs that no longer serve my best and highest good

The physical actions for the cord cutting is simple, all you need is two candles and a piece of string/cord/twine. Tie the twine into a circle with a knot and place the candles on either end inside of the twine. Some rituals call for it to be wrapped a few times, it’s honestly up to you. You can get a little more fancy, if you would like by dressing the candles in herbs or burn the candles with herbs around it. The type of candle does not really matter, you can use chime/taper candles or tealight candles, whatever you have will work. Use your intuition and allow it to guide you.

    Cord Cutting Ritual

This is my version of a cord cutting, as mentioned, you can add more elements as you feel called to. As with all workings, make sure you are grounded and protected before starting, you can read about how to do that here.

    1. Gather your supplies and get yourself in a space where you are comfortable and won’t be disturbed for the duration of the ritual.
    2. Start by dressing your candles, if you want and tying the twine together to create a loop.
    3. Place your candles apart and place the twine around the candles, pulling them apart to create slight tension to hold the twine in place. Place the candles in a burn safe plate or container and fill it with a bit of water to help keep it cool and prevent fire as well as absorb any negative energies during the burning.
    4. Set your intention by mediating for a bit on what you wish to do, example focusing on severing the cords between you and who/whatever or you can write a petition, which is basically writing all the intentions down on paper.
    5. Light the candles and watch the flames and cord burning. You can refer to the basic flame meanings below or use your intuition to pull insights during the burning.
    6. After the burning, you can keep track of how long the candles burned for for more insights or read the leftover wax. Remember whatever comes to mind for wax reading will be your additional insights. Dispose of the candle and remains and remove from your property immediately.

You can do this as often or infrequent as you would like, remember to trust your intuition and follow your inner guidance.

    Basic Flame Meanings

    1. Tall, Strong flame: A tall, strong flame indicated that the work is working, strong enough to push through any obstacles and tall enough to reach the height of your goals and intentions.
    2. Low flame: A low flame can indicate that more work needs to be done for there to be good results. This can indicate not enough energy for the spell to work.
    3. Short, Weak flame: A short and weak flame can indicate that your intentions or timing may be off, especially if it weakens.
    4. Steady flame: A steady flame is a positive indication that the spell is working in your favor.
    5. Blue/Colored flame: A blue or colored flame other than orange and yellow can indicate the presence of a spirit, angel or highly evolved entity.
    6. Dancing flame: A dancing flame indicates that the work will work, but not without any problems/resistance. Notice how tall or short the flame is, this can indicate the level of resistance.
    7. Flickering flame: Notice the direction that the flame is flickering towards. The direction can be interpreted via the 4 compass points.
    8. Crackling/ Popping flame: A crackling/popping flame can indicate resistance or opposing forces, use your intuition as if it is opposing forces, you will generally know exactly who it is. A better interpretation would be to take in consideration what kind of work you are performing, example if you are doing protection work, a crackling or popping flame would indicate someone with bad intentions is talking about you or working against you.
    9. Dual flame: A dual flame can indicate that another force, energy, spirit or deity has joined the work and is generally a good sign that your work is working. It also depends on the type of work being done, in protection work, it would indicate that the intended target is reflecting the work back to you, while in hexing work, it would indicate that the new force has joined to help the work.
    10. Flame self-extinguishes: This means that the work is done, a self extinguishing flame is a great indication that your work went well and your prayer was received by the Spirit world.
    11. Quick burning, uneven: A quick burning that is uneven can indicate that you were not properly grounded before starting. Try again at a different time, if the results are the same, you need to recast another time.
    12. Quick burning, even: A quick and even burning is a great indication that your spell worked, however a super quick and out of control burning indicates that you may need to reevaluate your work.

Remember that your initial indications and insights always trump a basic meaning or explanation. Trust your intuition and inner guidance.

I do offer a cord cutting ritual that’s seasonal, you can book yours here.

  • What is Reiki

Reiki is an energy healing technique that promotes stress reduction and relaxation. It is administered by the “laying of hands” for in person sessions or through distance and time. It was developed in Japan by Mikao Usui, also known as Usui Sensei by his beloved students, in the late 1880s.

Reiki has become mainstream since the 1980’s when Grand Master Tanka brought the Japanese developed energy healing technique to the western world. Before then, Reiki was only taught in Japan and required extensive hands on training. Thanks to Grand Master Tanka and the internet, thousands of Reiki Masters being attuned every year.

The word Reiki is made up of two Japanese words, “Rei” meaning God’s wisdom or Higher Power, and “Ki” meaning life force energy, similar to the Chinese word “chi” which also refers to the life force energy within you. The word Reiki literally translate to “spiritually guided life force energy,” which is really beautiful

Reiki is a safe and natural method of spiritual healing that everyone can benefit from. Although it is spiritual in nature, Reiki is not a religion. In fact, it is not dependent on belief at all, it will work whether you believe it will or not. Reiki comes from the Universe, Spirit, or God, depending on which name you choose to know it as. Many who use Reiki and receive say that it connects them closer to their “creator” and/or religion. Remember spirituality and religion are not exclusive, you can have one without the other.

Although Reiki is not a religion, it is still beneficial and important to live and conduct your life in a way that is harmonious with others. After a meditation, years into developing Reiki, Usai Sensei added the 5 principles of Reiki, inspired by the Meiji Emperor of Japan, whom he greatly admired.

Translation: The secret art of inviting happiness. The miraculous medicine of all diseases. Just for today, do not anger. Do not worry and be filled with gratitude. Devote yourself to your work. Be kind to people.Every morning and evening, join your hands in prayer.Pray these words to your heart and chant these words with your mouth Usui Reiki Treatment for the improvement of body and mind

    The founder,Usui Mikao

    So how does Reiki work?

During a session, the practitioner transmits Universal Life Force to the client, with the intention of creating deep relaxation, help speed up the body’s natural healing abilities, reduce pain and discomfort and decrease other symptoms that you may be experiencing.

Our body already has natural healing abilities, we’ve just been programmed to think that they don’t exist or that they aren’t capable of healing us of all types of discomfort and diseases.

As mentioned before, Reiki can be performed at in person sessions with the laying of hands on the body or slightly off the body. It can also be sent across time and “long distance” in the form of prayer/intention, known as remote Reiki or long distance Reiki.

This is why it is said that the mind is powerful, if you think something won’t work, that belief is strong enough to make that a true reality. Soul imagine the possibilities we can achieve if we all learned how to heal and tap into the ancient wisdom of energy healing, what we would be able to accomplish in just this lifetime?

To learn Reiki, one receives an attunement and learn specific hand positions through which to send Reiki. With their hands attuned, they can either rest them on a recipient’s body or -when becoming second-degree Reiki practitioners- they learn a distance symbol that enables them to “dial up” and connect with a person’s energetic essence. They’re then able to perform absent Reiki, sending universal life force energy across time and space.”

    What is Universal Life Force?

As Brett Bevell explained in his book, “Psychic Reiki”, ‘Reiki doesn’t come from any person, or human, or the collective field of life force here on Earth, but from a higher source that exists on the spiritual plane… yet the energy itself is from the Divine and thus not limited by our human structures and human interpretation.

As much as you can read about Reiki, the best way to know more about is to book a session and experience it, whether that be with me or with another practitioner, make sure it is someone you feel drawn to and safe with. Use your discernment and intuition to guide you to make the right choice for you.

  • Energy Vampire Guide

    What is an energy vampire

An energy vampire refers to someone who knowingly or unknowingly, drains your emotional energy. Energy vampires feed on your willingness to listen and give a fuck about them. Anyone anywhere can be an energy vampire. It can be your parents or even best friend. YOU might even find out you’ve been taking on some characteristics as well. Energy vampires are simply people who aren’t aware of of their emotional needs or respecting others’ boundaries because they simply don’t respect or enforce their own. Remember people are doing the best they can with the understanding, insight and awareness that they have.

7 ways to spot an energy vampire

    They lack accountability

Energy vampires, as I mentioned, don’t respect other people’s boundaries. This is often due to their lack of or refusal of being aware. They sometimes know they are in the wrong, however they don’t want to face the facts. They always somehow find a way to push the blame off on someone else, it’s never their fault.

    It’s always a competition

They are always try to one up you. You get new shoes, they got a new outfit. It’s somehow always a competition. We are all different and meant to be that way, there is no competition and comparison. Insecurity in one’s uniqueness leads to jealousy and the need to compete with others.

It’s all about them all the time

Most of the time y’all are together is spent talking about them, their drama, their issues. Venting is really just emotional dumping. We’ve all done it, again it’s about awareness and accountability. There are other ways to feel through our emotions than to dump it all on someone and then feel better.

They manipulate your kindness against you

You offer to help, now they are always just signing you up. It can be a small thing, a ride to the store and then it’s them “tagging” along everywhere, without giving you gas money. “Well you were already going, my house is on the way.”

They give you ultimatums & guilt trip you

“If you don’t do this, then you don’t love/care about me.” Even “Do this or you’re not my child anymore.” Are you starting to see the hidden pattern? Many of these are ‘inherited’ and learned from our parents, this is way our healing is soul important, we are healing generational wounds. Many of us have heard soul many ultimatums and guilt trips that we think it’s normal or even worst that it’s right.

They use bullying or intimidation to get their way

Many of our first bullies are family members, this desensitizes us to bullying outside the home, some even taking it on as a personality trait.

They are cynical and tend to focus on the negative

Point of view: You can tell your highest hopes and dreams and you’ll get a “Well that’s not realistic.” Other’s fears and limitations are not your reality. If someone is projecting fear and insecurity on you, you will notice it right away. You may brush it off, but their comment bothered you for a reason. Unsolicited comments about how positive someone is a clear indication you’re in the presence of an energy vampire.

How to protect against energy vampires

The quickest and easiest way to protect against energy vampires is to stop going around them! Set your boundaries and stand by them, easier said than done, especially with family members, but necessary for you and your energetic health. There’s no need to explain yourself, you don’t have to. You are doing what is necessary to protect your inner child and you.

One of my favorite ways, especially since showing up on social media and the internet, is to cover your crown. Your crown chakra is right on the top of your head and is where you receive divine insights to process & understand/become aware of them. If you are going to be around strangers, crowds/groups of people, even to the grocery store and you are sensitive, just throw on a cap or wrap your head with a scarf/cloth. This intentional physical step will also help train you to be more aware.

Last, but not least, utilize crystals. Crystal, minerals and gems each have metaphysical as well as physical properties that can aid in healing and protection. A great rule of thumb is black crystals for protection, black tourmaline is a favorite among many for protection. Selenite is also great in combination with black tourmaline, as selenite is self charging, cleansing and charges other crystals. Do your own independent research on what crystals you are drawn to. I suggest going to your local metaphysical shop and shopping with feeling. Hold the crystal in your hand or run your hands through the bowl and allow your hand to pick one.

The key is intention. The power lies within your intention and belief of that protection. Speak success into your protection work, words cast spells, don’t speak fear or doubt or even dwell on a negative thought about it for even a minute! Good luck and love you!

  • Chakras 101

    Background

The word ‘chakra’ comes from the ancient Sanskrit language meaning ‘wheel’ or ‘disk’, referring to the energy points in our body. Chakras, along with other spiritual topics, have become mainstream in the past few decades, largely due to the birth and growth of the internet as well as “New Age” spirituality philosophies and teachings. They were first mentioned in the Vedas, ancient texts of spiritual knowledge, dated around 1500 to 1000 B.C. There are 7 main chakras in the human body, Eye believe there are at least 114 different chakras in the body, which can be differentiated and discovered through a practice of meditation.

Everything is made up of energy. Our chakras are energy centers within our own energy field. There are 7 main channels, starting from the feet up through the base of the spine all the way about 6 inches above our head. They are the root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye and crown chakras. Our ability to balance these energy centers results in our limitless potential to manipulate the physical reality through the attraction of like vibrational things, aka the law of attraction.

We have 3 energy body “systems” that is all connected and in a sense “on top of each other.” Our spiritual/ethereal body, our mental body and our physical body all work together to relay information within the “systems”. Our thoughts and visualizations are converted to feelings and emotions that are triggered physically by our chemical hormones that are released. This is why when we master our emotions, aka our energy in motion, we are able to manifest/co-create the life that we choose. The mind is infinite, but the illusion is that we are bounded by our physical bodies. Due to this illusion, many humans walk around completely unaware of the power they possess

Explanation of the Upper Chakras & Lower Chakras

*DRUMROLL* Introducing: The Chakras! *fanfare sound*

    The Root Chakra Muladhara

Photo by Any Lane on Pexels.com

Our center of stability and security

The root chakra at the base of our spine and extends throughout our legs and is our connection to the Earth. Ruled by the planet Saturn, muladhara teaches us about our limits and how to work with them. The root chakra corresponds with the physical action of sexuality, the mental action of stability, the emotional action of sensuality and spiritual action of security.

Since the root chakra is our center of stability and security, An unbalanced chakra can manifest as issues with sexuality, lust, obsessions, feeling safe & secure and stress about money and financial security. Physically our root chakra corresponds with our legs, feet, rectum, tailbone, and immune system. An unbalanced root chakra can manifest physically in those areas as well as in the male reproductive & prostate disorder & bowel movements. When we are balanced, you will feel connected, grounded, supported and safe in your own body.

A great way to ground yourself is to walk or stand on the earth barefoot and imagine your energy extending into the ground and the Earth returning with Gaia Energy. Wearing red and eating red foods will also help maintain balance for the root chakra. A interesting practice called nasikargra drishti, which involves gazing at the tip of your nose, yes crossing your eyes, over time until you develop the ability to smell psychic fragrances, is a way to access the root chakra.

    The Sacral Chakra Svadhisthana

Associated with our sexuality and creativity

The sacral chakra located from the upper part of the sacrum below the naval and is our center of sexuality and creativity. The sacral chakra corresponds with the physical action of reproduction, mental action of creativity, emotional action of joy and spiritual action enthusiasm.

When our sacral chakra is balanced, we feel empowered to take risks, comfortable in our sexuality and be sensual. An unbalanced sacral chakra can manifest in issues relating to sexual and reproductive health, the ability to express emotion or desire, kidney and urinary function, and/or issues in the hips, pelvic and lower back.

A great way to keep the sacral chakra free and flowing is through movement, particularly dance. Adding a daily practice of movement will ensure that you start your day with mindfulness of where your energy levels are at.

    The Solar Plexus Chakra Manipura

Our center of willpower, authenticity and our sense of self, including our ego, personality and identity.

The solar plexus is located above the navel and below the chest and is our center of mental activity, self esteem and personal willpower. The vibrant color of yellow of the solar plexus represents wisdom and intellect. The solar plexus chakra corresponds with the physical action of sexuality, the mental action of stability, the emotional action of sensuality and spiritual action of security.

When our solar plexus is balanced, we are empowered to be assertive, are able to make decisions with ease, have good mental focus and great productivity. We will also see overall good physical health and healthy digestive system, as well as a good relationship with the world surrounding us, particularly in our work and affairs. An unbalanced manipura can bring about low self-esteem and self confidence, low energy and physically manifest as having poor digestive health.

A great exercise to do with your solar plexus is to fire it up! You can do this by closing off your left nostril and breathing in through your right and then exhaling through the left for about 2-3 minutes. (avoid this if you have heart disease or high blood pressure, check with your doctor.) This exercise will help with the activities relating to the solar plexus, such as writing, working, debating or going through with spiritual practices.

    The Heart Chakra Anahata

Photo by Jill Burrow on Pexels.com

Our center of unconditional love, forgiveness, empathy and compassion for ourselves and others

The fourth chakra, commonly referred to as the heart chakra is the energy through which we are able to make choices and decisions beyond our bounds of karma, following our heart and serving without concern for lust, greed, or anxiety. It is located in the center of our chest on in our sternum and is the center of our unlimited, unconditional love. The physical action of the heart chakra is our circulatory system, the mental action is passion, the emotional action is love and the spiritual manifestation is devotion.

When our heart chakra is balanced, it give us a sense of wholeness, from which we are able to accept, forgive, love and have compassion for both ourselves and others. An unbalanced heart chakra can manifest in lack of self love, empathy and the inability to forgive yourself and others.

Each and everyone of us is always tapped into the limitless potential of unconditional love, to use for ourselves or others, but we’ve been programmed to think we need something is return for showing that love. Our hearts literally shift when we are reacting in fear and can actually get us stuck in negative thinking. A wonderful mantra Eye’ve learned from Llewellyn’s Complete Book of Chakras is “Om shante shante savrista nashini swaha”, which roughly translate to “O Sacred One, toward peace. You are the means of accomplishing the removal of sufferings. This is the prayer we off.”

    The Throat Chakra Vishuddha

Photo by Harry Cooke on Pexels.com

Our center of communication, our ability to freely speak our truth and self expression.

The throat chakra is between our collar bone and larynx in the neck and is our center of communication. Fitting that it is ruled by Mercury, planet of mental activity and learning , as we draw breathe in and out our expression. through our voice is release as we breathe out, each time passing through the throat chakra. The fifth chakra corresponds with the physical action of communication, the mental action of fluent thought, the emotional action of independence and spiritual action of security through communication and expression.

With our throat chakra balanced, we are empowered to speak our truths honestly, freely and with intent. Unbalanced, we are unable to articulate our thoughts and opinions and may have fear of speaking. Physically, we may have thyroid imbalances, grinding teeth and excessively may lead to gossiping, loudness, stuttering, and lack of consideration.

A great way to free your throat chakra is to sing! Your unique voice and tone is perfect for healing your body and energetic body. A fun exercise to do is to put your music on shuffle and skip to the fifth or tenth song and listen, there may be a message in the words or melody to give you some insights about your throat chakra. Eye love to rise with music, sound is SOUL healing and great for your physical body as well. Set your alarm to your your favorite song, see how different you feel in a week when rising.

    The Third Eye Chakra Ajña

Photo by Teona Swift on Pexels.com

Our center of conscience, higher conscience, and wisdom

The second chakra is located between the brow and is associated physically with the endocrine, nervous and pineal systems, notably the pituitary gland, a pea sized, endocrine organ right in the middle of the brain. The third eye chakra, ruled by Neptune representing mystery and psychic potential, is our center of conscience, higher conscience, and wisdom. The deep indigo color represents inner wisdom, intuition and integrity. The Ajña’s physical action of insight, the mental action of intuition, emotion action of clarity, and spiritual action of meditation.

When the third eye chakra is balanced, you will feel focused and determined while open to advice and guidance. You will have an unwavering sense of trust in your inner guidance and open to the divine insights. However an unbalanced third eye chakra can result in headaches, migraines, blurred vision, eye and sinus issues.

My favorite third eye exercise is meditate and conjure a rose in my mind’s eye with a question or situation Eye need clarity or guidance on. Observe the rose and take note of the different changes that the rose will go through and ask for clarity on each change, if needed.

    The Crown Chakra Sahasrara

Photo by Felix Mittermeier on Pexels.com

Our center of our spirit, enlightenment, wisdom and our connection to Source and the collective.

The seventh chakra is our center of our spirit, enlightenment, wisdom and our connection to Source and the collective, located at the top of our head. Physically, it is connected with our central nervous system, pituitary and pineal gland. The physical action associated with meditation, mental action of universal consciousness, emotional action of beingness/mindfulness/presence, and spiritual action of unity through transcendental consciousness.

A balanced third eye brings a sense of eternal bliss, free from ego-drive desires, such as greed, selfishness, and vengeance. You will feel ever increasing self trust, selflessness and inner peace. An unbalanced chakra can manifest as issues with inner wisdom and death of the body.

The number one question about the crown chakra, is how do I get there? Through dedication to self, self accountability, and disciple. You’ve already taken the first step by being here, right now, reading this! 🙂
