Inner Child Healing Work

The 2021 Cancer Season really brought me the sense of urgency that I needed to share my inner child healing journey with yall as well as help you along yours. Many of us have trauma that’s deeply rooted in childhood, all of our programming and conditioning came from our upbringing and childhood. Soul many walk around as adults, failing to realize that they are still carrying their younger selves within themselves. This is a look at how I navigated through healing and nurturing my inner child.

I realized and recognized that there aren’t many tools to help guide or give you a clear innerstanding of how to self navigate. This will help shed a new perspective on shadow work as well as inner child work. Combining shadow work and inner child work gives us a more well rounded approach to healing and transcending. When I say transcending, I mean the continued progression of your soul’s ascension. Basically, the journey of you becoming more conscious, aware, and in your power.

It starts with the unpacking and integrating. The unpacking of the beliefs, programmings and reactions that we learned as children, because part of us is still operating out as our inner child. Integrating what we learned, with what we now know and setting a new belief. This is a process. You’ve been on auto pilot since you were 6-7. Give yourself some grace. Start with awareness and accountability.

You can only be accountable for the things that you aware of. If you don’t see yet (or don’t WANT to see) that an event, a person or thing is triggering an emotion, you won’t be able to prevent a reaction. Reaction, you re-acting in a “default” way based on what you learned or saw as a child. For example, I had to really learn that anger for me was a re-action to the need for patience and understanding from my partner, a behavior that I learned from my dad who would get frustrated and just call my brother and I “dumb” or “stupid”. We grew up calling things “dumb” and “stupid”. It takes awareness and accountability. It took me meeting my husband to notice that.

Sometimes it takes an outside perspective, as always you have freewill, ultimately you always have a choice. You are here.

Empowering yourself seems clichey, but it’s really a key! When we feel good, we do good. We greet the world and it greets us back! Working through and importantly, feeling through our emotions and transmuting it to gratitude that you are here and you are able to feel ALL the emotions during your lifetime is a blessing! You are able to have a unique perspective in the human experience, you are a piece of the puzzle and it wouldn’t be complete without you!

Tools

Intentional Meditation: I love to use meditation not only for bringing myself to the present and observing, but also with intention to address trauma or subconscious. Observe any and all memories, thoughts, emotions, or sensations that may come up on the course of the meditation. These are relevant to your healing and journey, things that you need to reflect on or deal with.

Reflective Journaling: Getting your thoughts and healing process and insights on paper will help you make realizations and self revelations that are insightful into your unique journey.

Gratitude Journaling: Gratitude is the highest form of energy exchange that the Universe that always accepts! Keeping a gratitude journal will provide a tool for keeping yourself mindful and bringing your attention to the point of power, the present.

Intuitive Channeling: This is a tool that I came up with for a way to channel my creativity and help me feel through my emotions without partaking in them. I love to sing to my favorite song at the moment, flow intuitively with dance and movement or creating art.

I absolutely needed this because lately my mom who I have a lot of inner child wounds from is trying her best to interact with me. I’m not ready, and she is an energy vampire too. So I need to do some more healing and be the best person I can be. Thank you for the steps

This was very insightful. I have began my inner child healing however, I’ve realized there are many, many layers to it. I was abused sexually, physically, mentally, verbally, and emotionally by my father. My mother was more emotional, mental, and verbal. On certain occasions she would take out her anger on me. In fact both of my parents used me as their punching bag for their anger towards each other. It wasn’t until my father was locked up for other crimes he had committed that we got away from him, but even at age 48 my mother holds on so deeply to the abuse in which she endured. I’m 28 and she has never hugged me nor uttered the words I love you. I realized I have to love myself and be the mother and the father I never had. I realized I had to let her go as much as I love her because she is still battling her own demons. I also realized while on my conquest for love I kept attracting mirrors of myself which is why all of my romantic relationships were toxic and abusive, so now I have trauma from my adulthood to heal from. However, this is all deeply rooted from childhood. This is not an easy journey but it is necessary. I know I’m capable of so much success but keep allowing my past to hold me back.

Superb blog! Do you have any tips and hints for aspiring writers? I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you advise starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many choices out there that I’m totally confused .. Any tips? Appreciate it!

Thank you, I appreciate how you’ve put your information together. I’ve had a lot of help with Inner Child healing over the years alongside many other spiritual practices. I feel it also prepared me for becoming a conscientious parent. I did a workshop with the inner council and appreciate that we don’t have to keep doing the same thing over and over with inner child work, that we can just be creative and explore new things each day to make the world more intriguing and meaningful.
